An Overhead Bidirectional Three-Phase Recloser is an automated electrical device used in power distribution systems to detect and isolate faults, like short circuits or overloads, while minimizing power outages. It is "bidirectional" because it can manage power flow in both directions, making it ideal for grids with distributed energy sources like solar or wind. Once a fault is detected, the recloser opens to interrupt the circuit and then automatically closes after a set time to restore power, reducing the need for manual intervention. This process helps maintain grid stability and reliability.
